Akayla joined Gart Properties in December 2016 as a member of the accounting team.  Akayla is responsible for processing invoices and issuing payments.  She also works directly with vendors and in-house employees.  Akayla has been in the accounting industry for 12 years and finds real estate accounting to be very interesting and fun.

Interests outside of work: Akayla enjoys planting vegetable and flower gardens.  She loves anything associated with arts, crafts, cooking and reading.

Alexander joined Gart Properties as their financial controller in August of 2017.  He oversees the accounts payable and financial accounting departments for Gart Properties.  Prior to joining the company, Mr. Krantz spent eight years working with some of Colorado’s most prominent real estate companies.  His diverse background includes experience with industrial REITs (DCT Industrial Trust), residential homebuilders (Richmond American Homes), and multifamily housing management REITs (Archstone Communities). He is a proud first-generation Colorado native and a graduate of the Leeds School of Business at the University of Colorado at Boulder.

Autumn spent several years working in Bookkeeping and Retail Management, she joined The Gart Companies team in January 2013 as the Front Desk Coordinator for Executive Suites, as well as assisting with administrative roles within the Gart Industries.  In 2018 Autumn took on a new role working with Gart Properties as Leasing and Property Mangement Assistant.

Carolyn joined Gart Properties as Senior Property Manager in July of 2018.  She will oversee all management responsibilities of a portfolio of retail and office properties, including our corporate offices.  Prior to joining Gart Properties, Carolyn worked for Trammell Crow, CB Richard Ellis, and Larimer Associates.  She managed some of metro Denver’s most prominent properties, such as The Landmark, Larimer Square and Denver Union Station.  She graduated from Metro State College with a Bachelor of Science degree in Business Management, has earned an RPA through BOMA and holds a Colorado Real Estate Broker’s license.

Hometown: Littleton, Colorado

Interests outside of work: Carolyn is married and has three daughters.  She enjoys spending time with her family, going on walks with her two dogs, hiking, gardening, travelling, skiing and snowshoeing.

David returned to work for the Gart family as their V.P. of Finance in March 2017, overseeing the finance and accounting function for Gart Companies, Gart Properties, Swoozies and Powderhorn Ski Resort.  David was previously the Controller of Specialty Sports Venture, the sporting goods retail business of the Gart family from 1996-2010.  From 2010-2014, David continued his Controller role at Vail Resorts for their retail division. David initially worked for Ernst & Young out of college, after graduating from Regis University with B.S.degree in Accounting.

Hometown: David is a Colorado native, and grew up in Arvada.

Interests outside of work: David is married with three boys.  He enjoys sports and being outdoors, playing golf, biking and hiking.

Derek has been a Leasing Agent with Gart Properties since 2006. He is responsible for the leasing efforts of over 5 million square feet of retail space throughout the Denver metro area. He began his commercial real estate career in 1998 with General Growth Properties and has held a multitude of positions ranging from General Manager to Group Vice President of Business Development. Derek graduated from the University of Northern Iowa with a degree in Business Administration.

Elizabeth joined the Gart team in August of 2018. After moving to the States from Scotland, she lived in Michigan, working as a Payroll Manager for a Nursing Center. She then moved to Denver in 2008 to be near family. Worked as a Payroll Admin with Specialty Sports Venture “SSV” sporting goods retail business of the Gart family from 2008 – 2010. “SSV” then moved to Broomfield and after some time changed to “Vail Resorts Retail” She continued doing Payroll till June of 2011 then moved to the HR department.

Prior to joining Gart Properties, Evan worked for SLATE Partners, a Denver-based investment bank that specializes in the building materials and building services sector. Mark Sidell has been president of Gart Properties since 1999 and is a partner in all of the company’s real estate investments. He is responsible for leading the organization including an aggressive acquisition program and continued execution of niche development opportunities. Prior to joining Gart Properties Mr. Sidell was a principal with Trammell Crow Company where he enjoyed a 13 year career in the Colorado real estate market. Mark serves on the board of several Denver community agencies including the Downtown Denver Partnership, the Allied Jewish Federation of Colorado and the Jewish Community Foundation. He is also an involved member of the Young Presidents Organization, and the International Council of Shopping Centers. Mark is a real estate industry veteran with more than 25 years of experience and holds an MBA in Real Estate and Construction from the University of Denver and received his undergraduate degrees in Construction Management and Business Administration from Washington State University. Mark is married with two children.

Matt is the project manager for the company’s diversified retail, office and resort properties portfolio overseeing multiple projects throughout the state simultaneously. An integral part of development teams in over three million square feet of real estate, he recently completed the renovation of the Denver Pavilions which includes two city blocks on the 16th Street Mall and The Village Shopping Center in Boulder. Matt participated in the Downtown Denver Partnership Leadership Program in 2010.

Matt’s career in real estate project and construction management in Denver began in 1997. He has been with Gart Properties since 2005.

Interests outside of work: Ironman triathlete, skier, and golfer. He lives in Denver with his wife, Jodi, and family.

Stacia acts as legal counsel to The Gart Companies, Inc. and the various entities in which it has interests. Stacia earned her J.D. from Vanderbilt University and has practiced law in Colorado since 1993, initially with a boutique real estate law firm and later with larger full-service Denver based law firms.  Stacia has worked with The Gart Companies, Inc. and its various entities throughout her practice and joined The Gart Companies, Inc. as General Counsel in 2016.

Hometown: Stacia lived in Columbus, OH and Little Rock, Arkansas before settling in Colorado in 1993.

Susan Cantwell received her undergraduate degree from Kansas University with a degree in Business Administration and Accounting. After leasing and managing Larimer Square, she worked on the development and leasing of the Denver Pavilions, which she subsequently managed for five years. Susan left to open Belmar, the new downtown Lakewood for Continuum Partners as the Director of Operations and Property Management. Susan joined Gart Properties to continue her career in commercial leasing and as the Director of Leasing is responsible for leasing Gart Properties real estate and handles third party leasing for the company.

Wendy has been with Gart Properties since 2009 and has 20+ years of marketing experience. Wendy currently sits on the advisory board for Create Denver as well as the Strategic Marketing & Alliance committee for the Denver Art Museum. In 2003, she was named as one of Brand Week Magazine’s guerrilla marketers of the year.
